broken secrets chase one another

an old wives’ tale: the one about a cat
who climbed into the baby’s crib and stole his breath

a barrier to movement

three older sisters draw bow strings to shoot arrows

Me! I won! I haven't been this excited since I won a five-pound Hersey's chocolate bar when I was ten. Oh, right, there was that lottery money back in 1995. Come to think of it, there was that other contest a while back---the one where I won a "meet and greet" with author James Frey, but couldn't go. Well, this prize is coming to me.
