Profile Information

About Yourself:
Born in 1977 on the prairies of Alberta and raised in the rich diversity of the Malay Archipelago....Yes, it’s true....I am one of those people that laughs out loud during a movie. I am also guilty of chorus singing...you know those awful people that hum to the song and then suddenly let loose---yep I am one of them. I dog-ear pages in my favorite books (sacrilege).
I believe in Santa Claus. I believe that socks should not be worn with sandals. I love Saturday morning cartoons. I think Sir Anthony Hopkins has hands down the greatest voice on the planet-and would be the only reason I would ever buy a book on tape? cd? download?(babbling). I constantly check the back of my wardrobe hoping one day it will lead to Narnia. I believe that movies are meant to be experienced in theaters and watched at home. I love people who act with love not speak of it. I like to puddle jump without rubber boots. I believe the bedroom is never a place to fight...ever. I believe a real man opens the door for you, every time. I’d rather go exploring than lay on the beach. I believe that letter writing is sadly a dying art. I think whatever wine you would like goes with that fish. I believe that good music is as essential as air. And lastly I believe that there’s nothing quite like being thoroughly good and kissed.

Paige, Something I am working on
John

TO LENNY

I kneel before you
my mouth stuffed
with the sediments
of unwritten words.
What magic
makes birds sing?
What ancient force
unbinds your tongue
to speak so
eloquently of love,
of longing,
of your place.
In our universe?
Yes, I live there too!
Beneath the Regal Mountain
among Ancient Temples
where the Great River
beckons the ships
to come up from the sea.
Yes I was a sailor too!

I sang the shanties of others
and strummed out
the rhythms of other’s toils,
And I was a passenger
on the ship of song
who did not write down
his own canticles of the sea.
I envy your gift
in a small way
as when my lover
casts her smiles too wide.
But only a churl
could take offence
at offerings so freely given.
Tears richer than jewels
adorn your fading happiness.
Old flames, cooled by time,
mellow in a gentle light
of hard won wisdom.
Steely sorrows, healed,
have rusted into stunning
objets d’art.

I look forward to reading your work also. The time factor for me is very limited
I take on too many projects and end up with no me time. I hope to donate more time to the web sites in future.

Hi
Can't remember what writing I sent. I just started writing poetry in 2007 and have not done any readings. But I just joined a writers' group so that may help. You have been traveling- where? are you still a student?
