I consider how dry my ever-flood reams and schemes of creativity has been lately.
slide of hem on floor
scritch of scuttle in the wall
a drop of something wet when you're not near rain
you have to know she’s there
just beyond that slightly grayer spot in darkness
a flicker at peripheral parenthesis
a touch on skin by nothing you can see
you have to know she’s there
in sudden focus of newborn’s eyes
an almost sound you almost heard
on a word, a phrase, a full sentence
