Hi Carol,
I'm very glad to meet you :)
Love your shewolf site. Have already added it to my favourites. Am fascinated by Native American/First Nations history, culture, traditions as well as shamanism.
You must be a formidable and wise teacher :)).

About Yourself:
I have always been a creative soul. When I was a child, riding on the back of my horse, I learned cadence. Later, I realized the value of beauty in small things and stories that were whispered in my dreams. Art became an alternate expression for me. When I move into that creative space, to pen a poem, to write a story, or to create what I see in my head, I connect to my authentic soul. It is deep meditation and connection to the One where I stay present in the moment and all things are healing in that place of inspiration.

A Song In My Head

Dishes dread it when a story sweeps over their necessity,
garden went to seed by my sudden slip into stanzas,
I have become a bat hanging upside down in the day

because of poetry.

It silently takes my heart and hand,
leads me down a forest path,
has its way with me,
and I beg more of it

because I have a song in my head.

I do not name my place or name anymore,
for I have surrendered to sweet whispers,
seceded to seductive slips of tongue
as sounds and images and words
ravage this everyday woman

because she can not be else.

I consider how dry my ever-flood reams and schemes of creativity has been lately.

slide of hem on floor
scritch of scuttle in the wall
a drop of something wet when you're not near rain

you have to know she’s there

just beyond that slightly grayer spot in darkness
a flicker at peripheral parenthesis
a touch on skin by nothing you can see

you have to know she’s there

in sudden focus of newborn’s eyes
an almost sound you almost heard
on a word, a phrase, a full sentence
that grew from your do… Continue
